About The Position

Ozarks First in Springfield, Missouri, is hiring a News Photographer/Video Editor. The ideal candidate must be passionate about journalism. You will shoot and edit daily packages, VO's/VOSOTS, special assignments, and natural sound packages. The successful candidate will have a high degree of professionalism, effective communication skills, the ability to organize and prioritize workload, and function well in high-pressure situations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

  • Shoot and edit daily videos and stories for newscasts
  • Understanding of how to create videos and photos for our web and social media platforms
  • Must be able to carry 50 lbs. of equipment (camera, TVU, tripod, lights, and other equipment)
  • Set up live shots on very short notice
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Drive and maintain news vehicles
  • Suggest stories, read online news, and follow social media daily
  • Collaborate with coworkers to discuss assignments and logistics
