About The Position

A Newsroom Intern at News On 6 helps drive the Ideal Team Player culture. The Newsroom Intern will assist and observe in the workings of a newsroom at Griffin Media and News On 6 in the Tulsa office.

Requirements

• GPA of 2.75 or above
• Must have completed 60 credit hours toward their degree
• Self-motivated and able to work well with others
• Professional dress is expected at all times
• Availability for internship up to 16 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Learn basic producer skills including writing, researching facts, logging video, timing of stories and newscast, utilizing wire services, and prompter operation
• Learn basic reporting skills including interviewing sources, logging video, writing stories, and appearing on camera
• Learn basic web skills including writing and posting stories to News9.com, as well as using social media to post and gather news
• Shadow different members of the diverse station for further learning opportunities
