About The Position

As Iowa’s News Leader, KCCI 8 News is home to a passionate, fast-moving team dedicated to delivering the stories that matter most to our community. We’re offering dynamic summer internships in our News, Sports, and Weather departments for students eager to learn, contribute, and never run out of ways to make an impact. What You’ll Do: Jump into the action by supporting producers, reporters, anchors, and meteorologists in daily newsroom operations Research, write, and help produce content for on-air and digital platforms across news, sports, and weather Bring fresh story ideas to editorial meetings and collaborate with experienced journalists Shadow live broadcasts, field shoots, and breaking news coverage Engage audiences through social media and digital storytelling Take initiative and find ways to contribute—there’s always something to do at KCCI!
