As an intern in our news department, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned journalists and gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of news reporting. This paid internship opportunity is located at KFOX News in El Paso, TX. Internship Overview: Are you a news enthusiast with a passion for storytelling and a keen interest in staying up-to-date with current events? If so, we want you on our team at KFOX! As a News Department Intern, you will have the chance to contribute to the creation of compelling news stories, assist in research, conduct interviews, and witness the behind-the-scenes workings of a newsroom.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or be considered a recent graduate.
• Must be at least in your sophomore year of an accredited college/university.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Willing to work approximately 15 hours a week for 10 weeks, beginning in June 2025 or sooner.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to work from our El Paso, TX location.

Responsibilities

• Work with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers, in-house and out in the field.
• Receive training on various topics including how to produce a news segment from the control room.
• Learn how to research and pitch a great story.
• Operate camera equipment and understand what shots matter.
