WABI TV5 is looking for a creative, social-savvy Weekend Morning Anchor/Producer to join our #1-rated legacy station based in Bangor, ME. Bangor is a vibrant, affordable place to live with a lively arts and food scene, outdoor recreation, and strong community connections. You'll be based in a city that offers easy access to Maine's coast, parks, and seasonal outdoor activities, all while working in a newsroom where your work reaches local viewers who care.

Requirements

  • Passionate storytellers who are comfortable on camera and excited about digital-first news.
  • Background in electronic media/journalism preferred, but strong demonstrated skills and drive count just as much.
  • Experience shooting and editing video; familiarity with running a live backpack or ENG unit is a plus.
  • Comfortable producing shows and working across TV and social platforms.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Anchor and produce WABI's Saturday and Sunday morning newscasts with creative freedom and support from an associate producer.
  • Report three days during the week, including on-location live shots and enterprise stories.
  • Own digital storytelling: shoot, edit, and post high-quality video and social content across platforms.
  • Anchor scheduled shows and breaking news from our digital news desk when needed.
  • Pitch and produce compelling stories that connect with local audiences — and grow your reel.
  • Opportunities for fill-in anchor shifts on other newscasts.
  • Fast on-air experience: weekend anchor slots give you real anchor time early in your career.
  • Mentorship & teamwork: learn from seasoned reporters, anchors, and meteorologists on a close-knit team.
