About The Position
As a Gift Shop Host at Newport Aquarium, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for our guests while maintaining high standards of service and compliance. Your primary responsibilities will include proper cash handling and maintaining PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance, which is essential for safeguarding our guests' payment information. You will be expected to foster excellent relations with both guests and team members, ensuring that every visitor leaves with a sense of satisfaction and joy. A positive attitude and professional appearance are paramount in this role, as you will be the face of the aquarium to our guests. In this position, you will actively engage with guests, providing them with information about the aquarium and its various attractions. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to uphold this standard while performing your duties. Collaboration with other team members and departments is essential for effective communication and service delivery. You must be self-motivated and disciplined, capable of working independently while also being a reliable team player. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are vital, as you will be interacting with a diverse range of visitors. Additionally, you will need to maintain a thorough knowledge of the aquarium's activities, aquatic life, and special events to effectively inform and assist guests. Your role may also involve stock replenishment and other related tasks as assigned by the Merchandise management team.
