Provide telephone triage services for the Georgia Newborn Screening Follow-Up Program at Emory. Report abnormal dried blood spot screening results to the appropriate health care providers and make the necessary follow-up recommendations. Following the completion of on-site training that covers the specifics of each disease on the screening panel and the follow-up protocols, the employee must have the ability to interpret individual test results, incorporate other pertinent information and make appropriate recommendations. May require knowledge of caring for critically ill infants. Ability to contact health care providers and families by telephone or email. Serve as a resource for colleagues, assist with decision making and strategies for problem solving in day to day tasks.
