Performs hearing screens on newborns and provides education to parents pertaining to the relevance of hearing screening and early intervention. Supports the unit as needed. Competently performs and documents basic care and screening of newborn/infant. Performs hearing screens on newborns in the parent’s room (unless Conditions do not permit) Performs outpatient hearing screens when required. Follows established guidelines for security and identification of infants. Provides educational information and literature regarding the importance of early intervention and prevention of hearing loss to the parent or guardian. Enters Hearing Screen data into the KY Child database with accuracy and in a timely manner. Demonstrates proficiency in computer entry. Accurately enters Hearing Screen data into the KY Child database and any unit specific databases.
