Newborn Educator Registered Nurse NICU- Part Time, Days Status: Part Time Shift: First Job Summary: Assists in the planning, directing, coordinating high quality training and orientation, as well as ongoing educational activities for the unit/department employees (RN, NA, US). Also works in conjunction with fellow educators to coordinate the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational needs for staff. Job Requirements: 5 years of relevant NICU nursing experience. Bachelor's degree in nursing. Active Kentucky License. Certification in NICU specialty area preferred. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required. STABLE certification required within 2 years. NRP Instructor certification required within 2 years. Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant NICU nursing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Active Kentucky License.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning, directing, coordinating high quality training and orientation, as well as ongoing educational activities for the unit/department employees (RN, NA, US).
  • Works in conjunction with fellow educators to coordinate the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational needs for staff.
  • Collaborates with management, staff, and other educators to facilitate achievement of identified goals for interdisciplinary staff education and competency assessment.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates educational opportunities to enhance staff performance and professional growth.
  • Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating classroom and departmental orientation of new employees
  • Maintains documentation of staff educational requirements and activities.
  • Collaborates with Education and Development.
  • Represents unit/ department on select committees.
  • Enhances the role and effectiveness of the Nurse Educator through self-development.
