At Apple, the New Product Operations (NPO) Manager plays a crucial role in the dynamic development and launch of new products. This position is pivotal as it serves as the primary operations interface between the Worldwide Operations team and the core product development team, along with other functional organizations within Apple. The NPO Manager is responsible for ensuring that the product launch meets its stated goals in terms of cost, quality, schedule, availability, and customer experience. This involves planning and executing all development builds and rapid ramps of new products, coordinating with various teams including Engineering, GSM, SQE, and TPM to ensure that all necessary resources such as security, materials, equipment, fixtures, staffing, training, and documentation plans are in place for development builds and ramp readiness activities at the OEM sites. The NPO Manager will drive ramp readiness by ensuring that all aspects including materials, equipment, fixtures, training, documentation, and transition and supply chain plans are optimized. This role requires a strong ability to influence the product's manufacturability, testability, and material composition, aiming for responsive supply chains that are cost-effective, flexible, and of the highest quality. Additionally, the NPO Manager will assess, analyze, consolidate, and communicate risks and status updates clearly to management, raising key issues and presenting options for resolution to the cross-functional executive team during new product reviews. This position demands a natural leader who is organized, detail-oriented, and excels in program and project management, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and thrive in an ambiguous environment.
