About The Position

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer plays a key role in bridging product design and manufacturing. This position is responsible for leading the transition of new products from concept and design through production ramp-up, ensuring smooth launches that meet cost, quality, and delivery goals. The NPI Engineer works cross-functionally with the IPT (Integrated Product Teams), design, operations, process engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to develop robust processes and ensure manufacturing readiness for full-scale production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • 3–7 years of experience in new product introduction, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong understanding of DFM, DFMEA, and process validation methodologies.
  • Proficient in CAD and PLM systems (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Strong understanding of MRP environments, control, systems.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • The employee shall have natural or corrected near distance acuity in at least one eye capable of reading the Jaeger Number 2 Test Chart or equivalent at a distance of, not less than 12 inches (300mm).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with product launches in an aerospace, defense, energy, or medical product environment preferred.
  • Experience with CRM software (i.e. Salesforce)
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality tools.

Responsibilities

  • Project Ownership: Lead and coordinate new product introduction efforts from prototype through production release.
  • Process Development: Assist to develop and document manufacturing processes, work instructions, and test procedures for new products.
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Collaborate with IPTs and Operations to ensure products are optimized for efficient, scalable manufacturing.
  • Supplier Engagement: Work with supply chain and suppliers to source new components, qualify vendors, and ensure part readiness as needed.
  • Validation & Testing: Working with IPTs and Operations, plan and execute prototype/qualification builds, including pilot and pre-production runs. Analyze results and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain necessary documentation such as assembly instructions, build notes, process notes, sketches, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement: In coordination with IPTs and Operations, identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the primary liaison between IPTs and Operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams during new product launches.
  • Risk Management: Assess production risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful product ramp-up.
