As our IPM Buyer, you are responsible for new product development & base business procurement support. The IPM buyer manages end to end sourcing on new products through close collaboration with cross-functional partners on their dedicated brand. IPM helps to support brand base business by implementing sourcing strategies and MVA opportunities. The IPM buyer is the face of Procurement for internal stakeholders and has full understanding of brand needs, sourcing strategy and industry knowledge. The role requires IPM buyer to work closely together with several departments such as category procurement, initiative management, R&D, marketing, planning and finance. All your colleagues are engaged, analytic and action oriented to launch the best products on the market.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of beauty industry experience in procurement function
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Ability to manage product COGs, budget and spend
  • Ability to identify, understand and explain cost drivers
  • Ability to provide cost driven solutions to hit project financial targets
  • Manage negotiation with external suppliers
  • Identify risks in supply chain when making sourcing decisions
  • Anticipate potential delays or roadblocks to implement mitigation plans
  • Maintain critical eye on project timing
  • Propose and define scope of project (saving/sustainability/value)
  • Ensure alignment among cross-functional partners with clear communication
  • Monitor progress, ensure delivery and execution
  • Solution Oriented mindset to troubleshoot during product development & execution

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross functional team (technical departments, Initiative Management and Marketing) to understand the key upcoming launches and business needs
  • Provide sourcing solutions that comply to our sustainability roadmap, sourcing strategy, brand vision and meet financial targets
  • Work on projects in pipeline with end-to-end scope from initiation to execution, having a critical eye on cost positioning, specifications, volume and timing.
  • Proactively propose opportunities to increase profit & deliver bottom line savings. Keep track of “cost out” opportunities to be implemented in Y2/Y3.
  • Ensure continuous connection with Procurement Categories to share Brand vision on Business needs
  • Communication liaison between external partners and internal cross-functional brand partners
  • Align on sourcing panels, manage tenders, analyse bids, propose supplier selection with appropriate justification & ensure award process is fully met.
  • Confirm right MOQ and cost per project and keep track of adherence during the fiscal year.
  • Identify Sustainability, Cost out/Value in and Cash in productivity projects opportunities.
  • Report and track Productivity projects in appropriate systems, forums and costing/budgeting exercises.
  • Manage procurement related claims/issues for your brand as main point of contact; escalate to IPM leadership and/or category management as appropriate.
  • Support Business Continuity Plan for all high-risk materials.
  • Track and report CAPEX budget / Spend related to Productivity, Maintenance and Innovation projects on a brand level
  • Track and report savings results on a brand level
  • Implement actions to minimize material inventory and obsolescence (notably through OQ set-up).
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to provide high quality procurement support for the business
  • Have an expert understanding of the business needs, the Supply Chain specific requirements & how to fulfil them.
  • Influence decision making using product expertise, experience and supply base knowledge & leverage.
  • Highlight risks with mitigation plans as well as opportunities with potential gains.
  • Secure sharing of information and support for the local organisations and business units
  • Promote good inter-departmental relations & contribute to a professional, efficient department reputation.
