About The Position

Fontaine Modification Company, part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking a New Product Development Intern. This role involves working with the Product Development team on various projects, reporting directly to the VP of NPD, and gaining exposure to wider business teams. Interns will complete a capstone project over the summer, culminating in a presentation to business leadership. The internship will run for 12 weeks from May to August, with exact dates flexible based on school schedules.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or a related field.
• Rising junior or senior status.
• Strong interest in applying field knowledge to practical problems.
• Ability to comply with deadlines.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Interest in technology and process improvement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• No previous experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical prototype testing, including developing test plans, executing tests, and reporting findings and recommendations.
• Assist with software/electrical technologies supporting data logging methods and quantifying product utilization.
• Participate in SmartPWR AMR assistance and involvement.
