About The Position

PacSci EMC, an operating company of Ralliant, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented New Product Development (NPD) Design Engineer Intern Summer 2026 to join our Engineering team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting critical manufacturing programs, design processes, and engineering documentation within a dynamic aerospace and defense environment. You’ll collaborate with engineering professionals across multiple levels of the organization, gaining valuable insight into real-world product development and manufacturing execution.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Completed Junior year or higher preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, SolidWorks, and other engineering/business software tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and changing work environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks in support of larger program goals.
  • Willingness to participate in hands-on engineering and development activities.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create value and deliver results.
  • PacSci EMC is a U.S. Department of State ITAR-regulated employer. To comply with ITAR-controlled contracts, this position requires U.S. citizenship.
  • The essential duties of this position require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations. Accordingly, candidates must either be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) or be prepared to collaborate with the company in securing the necessary U.S. government export authorizations. Responsibilities

  • Support development and completion of Compliance Matrices.
  • Assist in conducting Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Perform risk assessments in support of active development programs.
  • Design tooling for test fixtures to support engineering validation activities.
  • Support process development experiments and analyze resulting data.
  • Participate in group design reviews and contribute technical input.
  • Work within Configuration Management Systems to manage and control program documentation.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data reporting and analysis across programs.
