Requirements

  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licenses No Licenses Required.
  • Certifications No professional certification required.
  • Experience 1-2 years related experience preferred.
  • Immunizations required for employment, including flu vaccine

Responsibilities

  • Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each day.

  • Collect complete and accurate registration information, including patient demographics, current insurance information, and patient health history.
  • Assign new patients with open providers based upon panel size and provider acceptance of patients.
  • Provide patient applications to providers for review when appropriate and monitor provider decisions regarding acceptance.
  • Schedule appointments for new patients ensuring availability with new healthcare provider.
  • Explain office policies and procedures to new patients.
  • Ensure new patient forms and necessary paperwork are completed before initial appointment.
  • Answer incoming calls and inquiries from potential new patients, providing information about services and scheduling appointments.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and providers to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new patients.
  • Work harmoniously with physician and clerical staff to meet patient needs; assist Medical Office Specialists with check-in/out process; serve as backup for Medical Office Specialists’ vacations, illnesses, lunches, etc.
  • Participate in development of workflows and provide accurate data to leadership.
  • Other job related duties assigned.
