About The Position

This New Jersey Institute of Technology Co-op position, which is part of the Verizon Campus Program, will allow you to channel your drive and enthusiasm as part of a 6-month rotation from July 21, 2025 to December 12, 2025 working a full-time schedule. Requirements

• Current enrollment in a New Jersey Institute of Technology Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Wireless Technologies, High-Frequency Design, Artificial Intelligence, or a related major.
• Expected completion date between December 2025 and June 2026.
• Coursework or demonstrated experience in scripting and coding (e.g. Python, Java, React, NodeJS, NextJS, Javascript/Typescript).
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.
• Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Proficiency in binary analysis.
• Knowledge of Network & Security protocols (e.g. TCP/IP).
• Knowledge of Identity & Access Management Centralize IAM Protocols: MFA, TACACS+, Radius, SAML 2.0/Single SignOn, Password Safes/Storage.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools like Git.
• Knowledge of REST fundamentals, API design patterns, and best practices.
• Knowledge of Threat Management and Incident Response (e.g. Splunk).
• Knowledge of fraud identification, key management, OAuth, and OpenID.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, policies, & standards, and security configurations.
• Understanding of penetration testing.

Responsibilities

• Enhance skills in multiple operating systems (Linux and Windows).
• Work on projects involving Python, Java, Javascript/Typescript, React, NodeJs, NextJs, expert systems software & Software Automation (e.g. ML, AI, IA, RPA, Ansible).
• Engage in System Administration & Network Management tasks such as OS level design, installation, maintenance of hardware/software, patching vulnerabilities, troubleshooting, monitoring, and system upgrades.
• Participate in Database Administration & Management including Oracle SQL, MySQL, MS SQL.
• Contribute to Information assurance and intrusion prevention efforts.
• Assist in Cloud Security infrastructure, policies & standards, cloud vendor assessment, and security configuration.
• Support Data Administration & Security including data classifications, loss prevention (DLP), privacy, and incident review.
• Work on Identity & Access Management tasks such as Authentication, authorization, and accounting framework, Multi-Factor Authorization-MFA, SAML 2.0, SSO, LDAPs/Directories, Active Directory.
• Engage in Incident Response including incident management and triage (RCA).
• Contribute to Network Security efforts focusing on external/internal network security and perimeter security.
