New Graduate RN - Critical Care Division - Nights (Spring 2026)
About The Position
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. About This Location: High Point Medical Center, part of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, is deeply rooted in the High Point community. Our 351-bed hospital serves the residents of High Point and surrounding areas providing a wide range of patient- and family-centered care backed by the expertise of a nationally recognized academic medical center. Our hospital offers a full range of hospital-based services, including emergency services, cardiovascular services, vascular surgery, general surgery (including robotics), bariatric surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic and spine surgery, women’s services (OB, GYN surgery, and GYN oncology), behavioral health, and inpatient rehabilitation. The Critical Care Division at High Point Medical Center consists of: Medical ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Cardiac Stepdown. Medical Intensive Care Unit - 20 bed unit that provides exceptional care for patients who are critically ill as they progress to the intermediate specialty care units. Nursing staff work alongside multiple providers and care teams, to implement a multi-disciplinary care team approach for patients and families. Skills and specialty equipment include advanced airway management, continuous renal replacement therapy, wound management, normothermia management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and titration of continuous infusion medication drips. Cardiac Care Unit - 8 bed cardiac focused intensive care unit that provides care to critically ill patients with cardiac diagnoses. Nursing staff work alongside multiple providers and care teams, to implement a multi-disciplinary care team approach for patients and families. Skills and specialty equipment include advanced airway management, continuous renal replacement therapy, wound management, normothermia management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, titration of continuous infusion medication drips, care of fresh CABG (coronary artery bypass grafts) patients, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump management, and Impella management. Cardiac Telemetry - 18 bed intermediate care unit that provides care to patients with a cardiac focus. This unit is responsible for monitoring patient cardiac rhythms, and is comprised of cardiac population patients including; heart failure, post pacemaker insertion, post cardiac catheterization with intervention, post ablation, BiPAP, occasional tracheostomy, post-op carotid endarterectomy, and post-op CABG along with intermediate patients that are transferred out of the Medical and Cardiac ICUs. Please note that you do not rotate to each unit. You will be screened by a Recruiter to express your area(s) of interest. Cardiac Telemetry is the only unit offering a sign-on bonus for new graduates.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of RN experience
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
