About The Position

Requirements

  • Current Kansas RN Licensure or will obtain by March 2026.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Telemetry, ICU and PCU need ACLS and Post Surg needs Chemo. Completed within the first year of employment.
  • 2-Year Degree.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 4-Year Degree.
  • At least one year recent experience in a similar healthcare setting.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Functions under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations.
  • Assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revises the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family.
  • Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Collects and analyzes patient health data through comprehensive assessment.
  • Identifies and prioritizes patient/family biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and education needs.
  • Develops and evaluates plan of care based on patient need priorities.
  • Coordinates care delivery with other healthcare team members and departments to ensure safe, age appropriate, culturally aware care, and optimal outcomes.
  • Demonstrates competence in service specific clinical skills and compliance with unit/department required duties.
  • Engages and involves the patient/family in the care delivery process.
  • Conducts medication reconciliation on admission, at transfer, and at discharge or as prescribed for outpatient setting.
  • Ensures safe and quality care for patients through identification of patient specific risk factors (i.e. risk for falls, risk for skin breakdown, etc.)
