About The Position

The Estimator position at Fluor Corporation is designed for new graduates with a foundational understanding of estimating in the heavy construction engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction (EPFC) industry. The role involves generating accurate estimating data and work in a timely manner, with a focus on Direct Field Costs (DFC) and Fluor Services costs. As the individual gains experience, they will expand their knowledge of estimating fundamentals applicable to various prime accounts.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in Construction Science with no required years of work-related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences including management, coworkers, clients, and vendors.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Fluor internship preferred.
  • Some estimating skills and knowledge is required; must have good communication, math, analytical and MS Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Generate complete and accurate estimating data/work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Understand estimating to the direct level for a single prime account.
  • Exhibit effective engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction (EPFC) industry knowledge.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with estimating fundamentals, especially for Direct Field Costs (DFC) and Fluor Services costs.
  • Prepare Material Take-Offs for estimates.
  • Assist or become familiar with Estimate Plan and Basis of Estimate documents.
  • Become knowledgeable about business line specific rates to be applied in Services cost estimates.
