The 5 East Cardiac Stepdown Unit at Indian River Hospital offers acuity telemetry and medical attention to a diverse patient population. As an RN Resident, you will work one-on-one with patients, spending most of your time interacting with them and forming close relationships. On this floor, you will find a supportive, responsive and inclusive team that will encourage you to explore opportunities within the Cleveland Clinic institute and grow your skills as a nurse. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:45AM – 7:15PM or nights from 6:45PM – 7:15AM, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (e.g., acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.
