New Grad RN Resident - Surgery

As an RN Resident on this surgical team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional patient care, from initial introduction to final send-off, working alongside a coach. You will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, enhancing their experience and providing healthcare information as needed. The Cleveland Clinic system also offers professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance nursing skills.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Trauma center experience
Responsibilities
- Participate in a residency core curriculum based on surgery core learning needs.
- Provide direct nursing care alongside a coach.
- Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
- Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
- Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
- Document in patients’ medical records.
