As an RN Resident, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, granting the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply pertinent healthcare education as needed. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care such as acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability.
  • Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Comply with established hospital/departmental personnel policies.
  • Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Document patients’ medical records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
