As an RN Resident, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, granting the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply pertinent healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care such as acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability.
• Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Comply with established hospital/departmental personnel policies.
• Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
• Document patients’ medical records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
