About The Position

The RN Resident position at Chippenham Hospital is part of the HCA Nurse Residency Program, designed to support new graduate nurses in their transition from academic settings to clinical practice. This full-time role focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered care in the Labor and Delivery department, with a strong emphasis on clinical training, mentorship, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • No previous experience required.

  • Other certifications may be required during employment.
  • Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting care in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses, intervening as necessary in case of unintended responses.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures, ensuring understanding of complex medical terminology.
