This 24-bed cardiovascular telemetry unit specializes in post-open heart, surgical, and ventricular assist device patients. This unit is fast-paced and provides excellent opportunities in nursing growth and development with the ability to care for patients undergoing innovative procedures. Patient population includes post heart surgery patients such as: Coronary artery bypass surgery Minimally invasive and robotic heart surgery Ventricular assist devices Valve replacement or repair Other procedures, such as maze procedure, endarterectomy, aneurysm repair Nurses on this unit will care for patients on Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs) and Total Artificial Hearts. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am. Weekend and holiday rotation is required.
