About The Position

JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor. Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including: Emergency care 24/7 Orthopedic and joint replacement services using emerging technology Cardiovascular services Maternity care and pediatric services Ambulatory surgery center Imaging services Outpatient Rehabilitation Center POSITION DESCRIPTION Up to $10,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates The Registered Nurse I/RN I assumes principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all Emergency Department patients. Additionally, the Registered Nurse I/ RN I initiates patient teaching and educates the family or significant other to attain optimal health. The Registered Nurse I/ RN I uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels and maintains positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians. The Registered Nurse I/ RN I continues in a mentor relationship with a designated RN, and works toward independent practice and growth educationally in the Emergency Department. Shift: Nights Hours : 1900-0730 Schedule: 6 (12) hour shifts per two week pay period. Some weekends required.

Requirements

  • California Registered Nurse/RN License
  • BLS/CPR
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • ACLS within three (3) months of hire
  • PALS within three (3) months of hire
  • MICN (after one year of employment as an RN)
  • ED Triage Course (after one year of employment as an RN)
  • AB-508 Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within six (6) months of hire
