This position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. No relocation will be provided for this position. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Understands MathCad, MATLAB, or VBA
  • Familiar with testing and testing analysis
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software Suite
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices in the office and on site
  • Ability to travel to Westinghouse or Customer site infrequently
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, time management (working to a deadline while balancing multiple tasks) with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly Motivated with a desire to learn and continually develop

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with nuclear power plant designs for operating PWR and BWRs or advanced reactors or AP1000.
  • Familiarity with ASME or API standards is preferable
  • Experience with design change control or requirements management is preferable
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or Professional Engineer License is preferable

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of engineering work in support of design and construction of mechanical power plant equipment, components, systems, for mega-projects or advanced reactors.
  • Develop pump, valve, heat exchanger, or other equipment design requirements for new plant build or modifications.
  • Identify problems and propose solutions to projects and tasks that are assigned.
  • Support more senior engineering personnel in various design and analysis efforts.
  • Make sound technical evaluations to support critical engineering decisions.
  • Communicate nature and status of work performed to appropriate technical lead and management.
  • Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations project teams with internal and/or external representation.
  • Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings as needed to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs.
  • Perform work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements.
