At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space. As part of a small team, you’ll work on launch vehicles, space vehicles and launch facility systems for the New Glenn Program, with a focus on system integration. You’ll work across systems and subsystems to support integrated solutions to achieve our vision of “millions of people living and working in space.” You will support system engineering practices across disciplines predicated to a high degree on your technical skills in one or more areas of analysis, design, or integrated testing. You’ll verify requirements using tools like DOORS Next Gen and other functional analysis toolsets. Your activities may include design reviews, test and analysis planning, risk and change management, gated reviews, fault analysis, proposals, configuration and data management, discrepancy resolution, and regulatory compliance. In this role you will carry out systems engineering activities in accordance with system engineering standards and practices, tailoring required processes to complete tasks assigned, including functional and systems analysis, as well as development and execution of system verification and validation plans. You will also participate in gated reviews, identify, analyze, and resolve system discrepancies, and provide support for the Element Lead. To be successful, you will develop solutions to cross-discipline design changes or discrepancies. You will also develop strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) integration, analysis, verification, and validation. We are looking for someone to be a strong team player, with good communication skills, who can work effectively in teams, including government officials, and independently. As such, you must have good execution and coordination skills, the discipline to self-start/finish, and flexibility with a holistic system mindset and aptitude.
