About The Position

The New Dock Sales Representative (NDSR) plays a critical role in expanding Martin Docks’ presence in the North Georgia market. This role combines sales, relationship management, and community outreach to drive new dock sales and market growth. The NDSR will focus on developing relationships with homeowners, builders, real estate agents, and boat dealers to build market awareness and convert opportunities from established competitors. This position is primarily an outside sales role, requiring daily travel for site visits, networking events, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who enjoys building connections, representing a premium brand, and turning relationships into long-term partnerships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Business, Marketing, or Construction Management preferred.
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in construction, marine, or high-end consumer products.
  • Proven ability to develop new markets and build long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and digital sales tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR; ability to travel daily within assigned territory.
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends or evenings for boat shows or customer events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand Martin Docks’ market presence in assigned territories.
  • Build relationships with key referral sources such as boat dealers, real estate agents, marinas, and builders.
  • Actively prospect and network to identify new sales opportunities and convert customers from competing brands.
  • Represent Martin Docks at boat shows, community events, and industry gatherings to increase visibility and brand awareness.
  • Conduct on-site consultations and evaluate customer needs, budgets, and site conditions.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, contracts, and material lists; send for approval and collect deposits.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers throughout the sales and installation process.
  • Follow up post-installation to ensure satisfaction and identify future sales opportunities.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and installation teams to ensure project accuracy and timely completion.
  • Document all customer communications, quotes, and project details in CRM and company systems.
  • Notify internal teams of project changes and obtain updated approvals when needed.
  • Track and manage active quotes, follow-ups, and pending approvals.
  • Handle customer payments and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Participate in staff and sales meetings, sharing updates and local market insights.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Corps of Engineers and TVA regulations.
