About The Position

Joseph J. Magnolia, also known as 'JJM', is currently looking for experienced Plumbers for our New Construction Team. This role requires skilled work in the installation, modification, and/or repair of plumbing and related systems, equipment, and fixtures in commercial buildings. The candidate must be able to communicate efficiently with customers and coordinators, and efficiently manage a company email.

Requirements

  • 6 years experience in new construction plumbing
  • Extensive knowledge in commercial plumbing systems and equipment
  • Detailed resume with references within the industry
  • Must be computer literate and tech savvy
  • Comfortable working outdoors on uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and lays out work and engages in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water, air, gas, sewer, steam, and hot water heating and distribution systems.
  • Supervises and inspects the installation and repair of plumbing pipes, sinks, traps, valves, faucets, vents, pumps, and similar equipment, fixtures, and apparatus.
  • Responsible for the installation record keeping so work meets or exceeds the state codes.
  • Establishes safety and work performance standards for subordinates.
  • Selecting type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and valves, according to job specifications.
  • Cutting pipe using a pipe cutter, pipe saw, power tools (band saw), and pipe cutting machine.
  • Threading pipe using threading machine.
  • Assembling and installing a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, wrapped, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
  • Securing pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge in safe and professional testing of piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
  • Connecting pipe pieces and sealing joints, using cement, glue, or mechanical fasteners.
  • Checking slopes and alignment for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers and transits.
  • Digging trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
  • Grading and leveling trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
  • Miscellaneous duties or responsibilities as assigned.
