Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in New Business, Underwriting, and/or Case Management within the insurance or IMO industry.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a management or leadership position is required.
  • Must reside and be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex or sensitive information professionally and tactfully across multiple channels.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • High level of technical aptitude, including strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
  • Solution-oriented problem solver who remains positive and effective in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated accountability, reliability, and ownership of work, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Receptive to feedback, adaptable to change, and committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and continuously develop the US New Business team, overseeing daily operations, application review, case management, and coordination with carriers, agents, sales, and internal stakeholders to ensure underwriting requirements are met.
  • Utilize internal systems to process requests, review documentation, and communicate effectively, while maintaining and enhancing department procedures, workflows, and training materials.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement processes, technology, and operational improvements; proactively identify and resolve gaps and opportunities within the department.
  • Lead, mentor, motivate, and support the US New Business team by providing guidance, resources, training, and development opportunities to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Monitor and assess team performance throughout the year, provide ongoing feedback, conduct annual performance reviews, and address performance issues as they arise.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members, ensuring successful integration and readiness to perform job responsibilities.
  • Provide regular department updates to senior management, lead weekly department meetings, and maintain visibility in all team and departmental activities.
  • Manage team attendance, including tracking vacation and sick time.
  • Perform additional duties related to the US New Business department as assigned by company leadership.
