Mayo Clinic’s Department of Neurosurgery in Jacksonville, Florida, led by Richard W. Byrne, M.D., is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible neurosurgeon with fellowship training in surgical epilepsy and stereotactic & functional neurosurgery. The successful candidate will join the Department of Neurosurgery within the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, an academic tertiary‑care program committed to excellence in patient care, research, and education. Clinical Focus & Expertise The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in advanced functional neurosurgical procedures, including: Epilepsy surgery Deep brain stimulation (DBS) for movement disorders Stereotactic radiosurgery Surgical treatment of pain syndromes Strong clinical skills and a patient‑centered approach are essential. Department & Practice Environment The Department of Neurosurgery includes 12 faculty neurosurgeons and hosts a neurosurgery residency program with two residents per year. The Florida campus completes over 2500 neurosurgical cases each year.
