About The Position

Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute, Neuropsychology Group is hiring for a Neuropsychologist! The Neuropsychologist will provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of adult patients suspected of having cognitive impairments associated with neurological conditions affecting the brain. Location: 32 West Gore Street About the Neuropsychology Group Our neuropsychologists are licensed psychologists with specialized education and extensive training in the clinical neurosciences, including the relationship between behavioral functioning and neuroanatomy, neurology and neurophysiology. They are specially trained to evaluate memory and thinking problems in those affected by injury to any part of the brain. An integral part of Orlando Health’s Department of Neurology, Neuropsychology Group also shares a close collaborative relationship with other departments to provide our patients with the highest quality of care.

Requirements

Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology with training and education in neuropsychology.
Successful completition of a Clinical Internship and Post-Doctoral Fellowship is required.
Must currently be a licensed Psychologist in the State of Florida (by the Florida Department of Health).
Must currently be certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Must meet the guidelines specified in "Division 40 APA" for practice in neuropsychology.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in neuropsychology.

Responsibilities

Response to appropriate physician-directed consultation
Patient assessment and intervention
Promulgation of appropriate assessment-generated neuropsychological evaluation reports with specific direction toward diagnosis or assistance with differential diagnoses
Descriptive assessment of cognitive-emotional, psychological, and behavioral strengths and weaknesses
Appropriate development of intervention strategies which may include individual and/or family education, Cognitive Rehabilitation and psychotherapeutic interventions.
Evaluates, and where appropriate, accepts referrals from community sources to include physician, private, family, or individual, and attorney referrals for assessment in the areas of cognitive, psychological, or behavioral impairments and/or in the establishment of competency or evaluation for disability or personal injury.
Demonstrates the ability to appropriately and thoroughly evaluate, interpret neuropsychological and psychological results, treat and educate patients and families according to the appropriate American Psychological Association and State of Florida Board of Psychology as well as Orlando Health Standards of Practice, Ethical Codes, and appropriate policies and procedures.
Participates in the requisite continuing education requirements to maintain State of Florida psychological licensure of 40 credit hours per two year cycle.
Adheres to the American Psychological Association Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct and National Academy of Neuropsychology.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Maintains an appropriate environment requisite to the performance of neuropsychological duties including appropriate cleanliness, lighting, and environmental temperature regulation. Attention to record confidentiality, to the highest of standards, is expected and in accordance with the American Psychological Association.
Demonstrates an open, honest, caring, and committed communication style with colleagues, visitors, patients, and families.
Practices efficient use and selection of appropriate supplies and equipment.
Performs all other duties as appropriate and assigned by his/her administrative liaison.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the State of Florida psychological licensure, Division 40 of the American Psychological Association which is necessary to provide care appropriate to age and developmental level of patients served.
Demonstrates knowledge and expertise requisite to level of degree and requirements of position as stated.
