For more information, please visit www.youthvillages.org Position Overview: The Neuropsychiatric Specialist (NPS-S) is part of the Neuropsychiatric Services team in the Clinical Services Department. The NPS-S will provide effective biofeedback, neurofeedback, and other NPS specific entrainment to meet the needs of youths as identified though NPS and clinical assessments.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a social services discipline (required)
  • Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy (others subject to review)
  • Must be eligible to pursue BCIA BCB and BCN Entry Level certifications (required)
  • Must have or be eligible for IQCB Technician Level credentialing (required)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Must have or be eligible for IQCB Diplomat/Diplomat-L credentialing (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provides neurofeedback, bio-feedback, entrainment, and other NPS modalities for a caseload of youth receiving NPS services
  • Completes all required NPS documentation in Evolv and submits when due
  • Conducts and documents NPS Group Sessions as scheduled for program (where applicable)
  • Completes QEEG mapping with youth and provides data for reporting and/or prepares QEEG Clinical Assessment for NPS-LPE review
  • Implements treatment recommendations from NPS-LPE based on NPS and other clinical assessments
  • Attends and participates in weekly NPS Team Meeting
  • Assists in maintaining NPS equipment daily (i.e. cleaning equipment and storing unused equipment)
  • Reviews progress towards NPS treatment goals with youth and reports to NPS-LPE and others as requested
  • Participates in BCIA BCB and BCN certification programs until completion (if not already certified)
  • Participates in IQCB QEEG certification program until completion (if not already certified)
  • Keeps up to date records of BCIA and IQBC certification progress and/or continuing education requirements
  • Participates in scheduled continuing education training as directed by NPS-LPE
  • Assists with the development of NPS treatment protocols and interventions based on current research
  • Is up to date with the current neurofeedback, biofeedback, and neuroscience research
  • Works with therapists, educators, clinicians, and parents in team meetings and consultations to provide accurate information about the youth per service received
  • Follows NPS Clinical Protocols as outlined in the NPS Manual or as directed by NPS-LPE
  • Reports any equipment failure or malfunction to NPS-LPE
  • Reports any needed NPS lab materials and supplies to NPS-LPE
  • Participates in planning and scheduling regarding youth for NPS
  • Meets all documentation and reporting requirements
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings, maintains compliance with all required training and hours of training as a Youth Villages employee
