About The Position

The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota and UMPhysicians is recruiting a full-time neurologist for MHealth Fairview (University of Minnesota Physicians/Fairview Health Services Partnership). Position Highlights: We are seeking a neuromuscular medicine-certified physician with a strong academic focus. The position requires a substantial role in leading neuromuscular clinical research, as part of an established clinical and translational research program. Candidates with experience in neuromuscular research, existing funded research, and research expertise, including those with MD PhD and MD MPH, are encouraged to apply. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position will provide outpatient neuromuscular services on the University campus and community clinics, including the following: Disease-state focused clinics, to include multidisciplinary clinics General neuromuscular clinic EMG Limited inpatient call coverage is expected. Opportunities to supervise and train medical students, residents and fellows Expectation to collaborate with basic scientists at the University of Minnesota on translational research Opportunities to lead clinical research and trials

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency training program and Board Certified or Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association
  • ABMS certification or eligibility for certification in Neuromuscular Medicine
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
  • Ability to obtain and / or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
  • Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills
  • Note: This position is not eligible for applicants requiring a J1 visa waiver.
