About The Position

The neuromodulation technician will provide patient care utilizing a breakthrough treatment modality for treating depression, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS therapy. This person will provide TMS under the supervision of the treating psychiatrist, neuromodulation medical director, and neuromodulation services clinical manager. The neuromodulation technician will also perform the following administrative tasks, but not limited to, HIPAA and paper chart compliance, collection of intake paperwork, charting of clinical notes, tracking of clinical and billing data, working on collecting necessary clinical information for insurance authorizations, scheduling patient appointments, and coordination with medical providers and clinical teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • CPR certification (required)
  • If not already obtain, TMS Certification will be provided by clinic (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Medical certification in one of the following (EMT, CNA, MA, LPN, etc.) (preferred)
  • At least one year in patient care/mental health setting (preferred)
  • Experience and understanding of prior authorization processes (preferred)
  • Experience in working with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Operate and deliver TMS treatments, under the supervision of a physician, according to specific protocols set up the TMS manufacturer and monitor all aspects of the treatment sessions for patient comfort and accuracy
  • Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion while developing trust and rapport. Monitor patient during treatment for abnormal reactions. Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior to neuromodulation leadership and TMS provider. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patients’ comfort, coil contact, and TMS set up through treatment under the direction of physician's standing order. This includes basic troubleshooting of MagVenture (TMS machine manufacturer) equipment
  • Provision and collection of all paperwork and documents set by neuromodulation leadership for operations while maintaining HIPAA compliance with all paper records (intake paperwork, clinical notes, consent forms, medical records, etc.); this includes chart auditing
  • Scheduling patient appointments while coordinating with ERC/Pathlight clinical teams and programs to prevent disruptions in TMS treatments and ERCP programming. Scheduling includes working with TMS providers and their availability to schedule initial appointments (TMS evaluations and mappings) that require a TMS provider
  • Under the guidance of neuromodulation services clinical manager and supervisor, work on the collection of necessary medical records needed for insurance authorization. This can include sending ROIs and communication with other treatment facilities, providers offices, pharmacies, etc. to receive required medical records needed for authorization
  • Data collection of treatments, billing, and clinical data (surveys)
