Requirements

• Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Professor.
• Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

• We are seeking candidates for a tenured position, who work on the molecular basis of neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, ALS-FTD, Ataxia, Huntington’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke/vascular dementia, and other neurological and psychiatric disorders.
• A successful candidate for this position is expected to have already established, a nationally recognized, competitively funded research program and participate in graduate/medical student education and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and translational research in the area of neuroscience and neurodegenerative diseases.
• Apply for external grants.
• Publish in peer-review journals and present research at appropriate external scientific conferences.
• Participate in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
• Provide Departmental or college-wide seminars.
• Serve in governance, service, and community outreach tasks.
• Other duties as assigned by the Chair
