About The Position

The Physician Assistant Medical Specialty is a licensed healthcare provider who delivers direct patient care in various medical specialties. This role involves assessing patient conditions, prescribing treatments, and collaborating with physicians to develop comprehensive treatment plans. The Physician Assistant operates within a specialty clinic and may focus on areas such as Palliative Care, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, and more, ensuring high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
• Less than 1 year of experience in a relevant field.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of drug properties and interactions.
• Experience in a specialty clinic setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and mental condition of patients through comprehensive examinations and medical histories.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests to assess patient health needs.
• Prescribe and recommend medical therapies and perform procedures as per approved protocols.
• Formulate and implement comprehensive treatment plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based medicine.
• Evaluate patient responses to healthcare provided and the effectiveness of care.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes, health management, and nutrition.
• Maintain detailed records of patient treatment plans and outcomes.
• Initiate timely consultations and referrals when necessary.
• Provide consultation services for conditions related to the provider's specialty.
• Manage patients in various healthcare settings beyond the primary clinic.
