About The Position

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Multispecialty Care team. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge to coordinate and perform hands on acute patient care at the bedside. The position is located at St John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, with a schedule of daytime hours, 36 hours per week from 7am to 7pm. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available, and compensation will align with the candidate's experience. The role involves establishing a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. The RN will promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support, and supervising assigned team members. The RN will also promote patient independence by establishing care goals and teaching patients and families about their conditions and self-care skills.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.

  • Measure health outcomes against patient care goals and standards.
  • Make or recommend necessary adjustments to care plans.
