About The Position

The University of Iowa's Carver College of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member in the Department of Neurology, specializing in Movement Disorders. This position is aimed at a BC/BE Neurologist with fellowship training in Movement Disorders to join a collaborative team focused on treating various movement disorders and engaging in clinical and basic research. The role includes outpatient practice, shared coverage of general neurology duties, and opportunities for clinical trials and research participation.

Requirements

• MD or equivalent and eligible for an unrestricted Iowa medical license.
• Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Completion of a Movement Disorder fellowship in the United States.
• Commitment to patient care, teaching, and scholarly professional activities.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care for patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Essential Tremor, Dystonia, and others.
• Participate in special clinics for General Movement Disorders, Botulinum Toxin Treatment, and Deep Brain Stimulation.
• Share coverage of general neurology duties including inpatient service and consult service with other faculty members.
• Engage in clinical and basic research related to Movement Disorders and participate in clinical trials.
• Contribute to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
