The Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) delivers comprehensive neurological care across both the outpatient neurology clinic and the Neuro-One inpatient service within Premier Health. This hybrid role supports continuity of care, acute neurological management, and collaborative practice with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and multidisciplinary teams. The Premier Physician Network offers a variety of Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant positions with varying degrees of responsibility. Advanced Practice Providers, in conjunction with the center’s physicians and clinical staff, are responsible for exemplary patient primary health care and continuity of medical services under the direction of supervising physicians. Responsibilities vary by position and specialty, and APPs must remain accessible to their physicians, staff, and supervisors to ensure high-quality, coordinated care. Knowledge of professional medical practice to give and evaluate patient care. Skilled in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide ongoing patient care. Competent in taking medical history, assessing medical condition and interpreting findings. Ability to maintain quality assurance and quality control standards. Capable of reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Excellent communication skills with both patients and colleagues are essential. Job Description: Outpatient Neurology Clinic Conduct independent and collaborative patient visits for a broad range of neurological conditions including headache disorders, epilepsy, neuropathies, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, and cognitive disorders. Perform neurological histories and examinations, order and interpret diagnostic studies (MRI/CT, EEG, EMG, laboratory tests), and develop evidence-based treatment plans. Provide medication management, patient counseling, and chronic disease follow-up. Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialty services, and community resources. Support clinic operations including triage, urgent evaluations, and post-hospital follow-up. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical protocol development.
