The neurologist provides non-surgical specialty care for disorders of the brain and peripheral nerves. He/she performs physical examinations, reviews medical histories, prescribes medications and orders various ancillary tests to diagnose and treat patients. Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of an ACGME-approved residency in neurology
• Board certified or board eligible in neurology
• Valid DEA registration and New York medical license
• BLS certification

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of post-residency experience
• Active Medicare and NYS Medicaid registration
• Familiarity with the NextGen EHR
• Experience with the I/DD patient population

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient medical histories
• Consult with patients’ primary care physicians to coordinate care
• Order and interpret EEG, laboratory, imaging and other diagnostic tests
• Determine a diagnosis and plan of care for each patient
• Partner with other members of the care team (e.g., nurse, medical assistant, social worker)
• Complete all EHR documentation and administrative tasks in a timely manner
