Position: Neurologist – General (Outpatient Only) Location: Dothan, Alabama Schedule: Full-Time | Permanent | Monday–Friday | Outpatient Only Organization Overview This opportunity is with a respected, community-based academic health system serving Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. Position Summary The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Neurologist to join its growing outpatient neurology practice in Dothan, Alabama. This is a 100% outpatient opportunity offering a predictable Monday–Friday schedule with no inpatient responsibilities. The neurologist will focus on diagnosing and managing a broad range of neurological conditions in a well-supported clinic environment. Physicians benefit from strong referral networks, access to advanced diagnostics, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including stroke specialists and other subspecialties. The group is open to 2026 Neurology residents as well as experienced neurologists.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
• Completion of a Neurology residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
• Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
• Current BLS/ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient neurological care to adult patients
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as headaches, epilepsy, stroke follow-up, neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, and movement disorders
• Conduct neurological examinations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies including MRI, CT scans, EEG, and EMG (as applicable)
• Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists for coordinated patient care
• Provide patient education and long-term disease management
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
