About The Position

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) has a unique opportunity for a full-time BC/BE General and/or Subspecialty trained neurologist to join our team. The ability to read EEG and interest in epilepsy would be welcomed. The Center for Neurology boasts a collaborative team of exceptionally well-trained, Board Certified Neurologists with subspecialty training or interests in Neuromuscular disease, Brain Injury Medicine, Stroke, Movement Disorders and Headache serving a population with a growing need for neurological services. GBMC is a Primary Stroke Center. Stroke call is covered by Stroke trained attending physicians through our partnership with a local Comprehensive Stroke Center. Routine Inpatient consults and evening call are currently shared equally amongst our team however due to the growing demand for Neurological services we are also interviewing Neurohospitalists. GBMC is an outstanding independent community academic health system in Towson, Maryland, just outside Baltimore providing care to a diverse population of 1.1 million. We provide care to patients over the entire continuum of life. We have robust medical education infrastructure, which includes an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency, affiliation agreements with the university of Maryland and Johns Hopkins; a state-of-the-art simulation center; a well-resourced medical library; and our own peer-reviewed, pubmed-indexed, medical journal (JCHIMP), a rare find among hospitals in the US. GBMC maintains a strong culture of quality improvement that uses the IHI, PDSA and Lean frameworks. In 2021, we were recognized nationally with the Malcolm Baldridge Award for Performance excellence. Interested candidates would have opportunities to develop their practice within their areas of subspecialty interest as well as participate in teaching residents or program development if desired.
