About the position

Lexington Medical Center is seeking a Neurodiagnostics Technologist to perform neurodiagnostic studies including electroencephalograms (EEG's), extended EEG's, Long Term Epilepsy Monitoring (LTEM), and nerve conduction studies (NCS's). The role involves utilizing various monitoring equipment and recording observations to collect diagnostic patient data to aid in the diagnosis of neurological and neuromuscular diseases and disorders. The position is full-time, with day shift hours from 7 AM to 7 PM, and includes a sign-on bonus of $2,000.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to hospital and departmental dress code.
  • Demonstrates competence to provide developmentally appropriate care/treatment for all patient populations.
  • Performs all neurodiagnostic procedures per physician order accurately, timely and in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
  • Utilizes, maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots all equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Orients new staff and serves as preceptor and resource to EEG Technicians.
  • Performs the duties of supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Monitors quality of tests performed through peer reviews, provides feedback and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Embodies behaviors, philosophies and values which uphold the ideals and enhance the image of Lexington Medical Center.
  • Works in a cooperative manner which fosters favorable relations between employees, patients, patients' families, visitors, fellow employees, and the medical staff.
  • Maintains CEUs as required by credentials and/or accrediting bodies.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Neurodiagnostics Technologist.
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous work experience in neurodiagnostics.
  • Certification by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (ABRET) as a Registered EEG-T.
  • Infant/Child and Adult BLS certification.
