About The Position

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Performs electroneurodiagnostic testing specific to neurodiagnostic department; maintains working relationships with internal/external customers to ensure accurate and timely procedures and reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an EEG Technologist Certificate Program and/or minimum of six months’ experience in EEG techniques.
  • EMT, Medical Assistant Certification, PA Licensed Practical Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all electoencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hour ambulatory EEGs, EMG/NCV testing, in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policy/procedures.
  • Schedules neurodiagnostic procedures and gives accurate instructions.
  • Performs all billing documentation and maintains all departmental records according to departmental policy/procedures.
  • Maintains electrophysiological equipment, supplies, and performs quality control and analysis of all neurodiagnostic testing devices.
  • Participates in activities to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
