The position is for a registered technologist to join our EEG team in the growing Neurodiagnostics department. Duties include EEG diagnostic testing, LTM, ambulatory EEG, and working various shifts in the EMU. The position may have crosstraining to Evoked Potential procedures or select IOM. Call shifts are required and shared between the team staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • Graduated from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred.
  • Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety.
  • General knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation.
  • Pattern recognition and various medical and pharmacological conditions knowledge is required.
  • Completion of department approved training program is required.
  • Required credentials: Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT), Registered Evoked Potentials Technologist (REPT), Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT), or Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologists (R.NCS.T).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures or testing for all patient populations.
  • Understand testing equipment: structure, function, use, effects on patients, and maintenance.
  • Apply anatomy and physiology principles (normal and abnormal) to procedures.
  • Have working knowledge of diseases and pathological conditions.
  • May perform intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies, and EEG testing.
