This position offers a unique opportunity to work across two specialized areas within the same department and building. The role is divided evenly between Magnetoencephalography (MEG) and Autonomic Reflex Screening (ARS) , allowing for a diverse and rewarding mix of clinical and research experiences. MEG 50% This portion of the role supports ongoing clinical and research work focused on epilepsy, neurodegenerative disorders, and developmental disorders. Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation and recording of MEG–EEG data for both clinical and research studies, as well as coordinating and managing MEG patient referrals. Working under the supervision of senior scientists (Ph.D.) and the Medical Director, this position offers hands-on experience with the department’s 306-channel whole-head MEG (Triux MEGin) system, which measures neuronal brain activity in children and adults. In the MEG laboratory, the incumbent will learn the principles and techniques of high-density EEG and MEG recordings, developing proficiency in EEG and MEG data acquisition. ARS 50% In this portion of the role, the Autonomic Reflex Screening (ARS) Technician performs specialized diagnostic testing to evaluate autonomic nervous system function. Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating testing equipment, and recording and verifying data accuracy while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient care.   • High school education or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of neurodiagnostic experience or 3 months in a Trainee Role and completion of competencies or graduate of electrodiagnostic program or graduate of a related degree program required.
  • Strong PC Skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
  • Experience in health sciences related field preferred.
  • Associate's degree in the sciences or biotechnical study preferred.
  • Formal neurodiagnostic training or equivalent preferred.
  • Registry from American Board of Registry for Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET), American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) preferred.
  • Priority consideration will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or other science-related fields.
  • Neurodiagnostic experience is a plus.
