About The Position

The CNP Technologist II works in the neurodiagnostic laboratories performing any one or more of the following procedures: Electroencephalography (EEG), Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and long-term monitoring (LTM). The technologist is responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, providing a safe testing environment and must demonstrate competent skills and knowledge in one or more of these areas. If applicable must also be able to work within the EEG/EMU on call schedule including but not limited to after hours, nights and weekends on a rotational basis. As our Mayo Clinic Neurology department continues to grow in innovation, education, and technology, we are looking for amazing Neurodiagnostic Technologists to join our team. This position can be filled by a Tech II or III. Our technologists are responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, providing a safe testing environment, and must demonstrate minimum competency, skill, and knowledge in neurodiagnostic procedural testing in the area of hire.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or Associates degree or higher, or an accredited school of END Technology.
  • Two or more years in Electro Neuro Diagnostic procedure testing.
  • Good human relation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
  • BLS certification.
  • Certification Registry in one or more of the following: EEG, EP, NCS, CNIM, CLTM, CAP, PSG from an accredited society.
  • For Tech III: Associates degree from an accredited school of EEG/NCS/EP Technology and a National Registry certification in two or more of EEG, NCS, EP Autonomic, Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) or Long Term Monitoring (CLTM).

Nice To Haves

  • Specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (CLTM) within two years of employment.
  • Experience performing one or more of electrodiagnostic procedures in EEG/NCS/EP/IOM/LTM/Autonomic.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Electroencephalography (EEG), Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and long-term monitoring (LTM) procedures.
  • Ensure complete and accurate patient preparation and data acquisition.
  • Provide a safe testing environment.
  • Demonstrate competent skills and knowledge in neurodiagnostic procedural testing.
  • Participate in the EEG/EMU on call schedule, including after hours, nights, and weekends on a rotational basis.
