Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Proficiency in performing EEG testing on multiple patients.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
  • Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight.
  • Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
  • Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.
  • Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with all HR policies, specifically the Code of Conduct Policy at all times.
  • Documents the working condition of a digital EEG instrument.
  • Assists in performing EMGs or nerve conduction testing.
  • Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments.
  • Complies with all Administrative and Departmental Policies at all times, specifically the Patient Rights Policy.
  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration for use by the health care team.
  • Operates equipment safely and correctly and performs preventative maintenance reports on all functions.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement Activities as assigned by the PI representative.
