Entity: Duke University Health System Location: Duke University Hospital | 2301 Erwin Rd, Durham, NC 27710 Occupational Summary Perform routine and complex neurodiagnostic procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system. This role involves working in at least one of the following modalities: Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), or Epilepsy Monitoring (CLTM). As a PRN staff member, you will provide essential coverage to maintain high-quality patient care across various shifts. Work Performed by Level Level 1 Perform one END study modality (EEG or Evoked Potentials). Explain testing procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate guidelines. Accurately document pertinent patient history from the patient or medical chart. Set up patients, paperwork, rooms, and equipment for studies. Conduct studies with appropriate documentation, troubleshooting equipment and physiological artifacts, and distinguishing normal from abnormal results. Recognize and respond to evolving patient care needs. Participate in the on-call schedule and work independently on 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts, including the EEG OR. Level 2 Perform all duties of Level 1. Perform two END study modalities (EEG, Evoked Potentials, Epilepsy Monitoring, or Sleep Lab float). Maintain registry in one area (EEG or Evoked Potentials). Utilize advanced computer skills to correct file errors, manage networking issues, and append patient studies. Assist in developing Clinical Standards and protocols. Level 3 Perform all duties of Levels 1 and 2. Perform three END study modalities (EEG, Evoked Potentials, Epilepsy Monitoring, Epilepsy OR, or Sleep Lab float). Maintain registry in one area; two registries/certifications preferred. Act as a "Super User" for equipment, troubleshooting lab issues independently. Generate requisitions, process daily charges, and serve as a Charge Tech for a designated number of hours per year.
